DAY 1: Cultural Welcome to Iceland

We are welcomed by our guide at the airport and drive 40 minutes through the impressive lava fields of the Reykjanes peninsula to Reykjavík. Check in at a historical 4 star hotel in the heart of the city, close to main shopping streets, restaurants and the lively harbor area. After some time to refresh we leave for a comprehensive introduction to Reykjavik, the northernmost capital city in the world and home to about 180.000 inhabitants. During the past century, the city has grown from a provincial trading post to a modern and entertaining city with many interesting museums, galleries and delightful restaurants and cafés. Among the main attractions visited are the National Museum, the Hallgrimskirkja church, Hofdi mansion, the Parliament, City Hall, the fishing harbor, and the Pearl, an observatory with a fantastic panorama of the city. The thermal swimming pools are worth dipping into before returning to the hotel. Dinner at a trendy restaurant, specializing in seafood dishes in a cozy and lively environment.

DAY 2: Golden Circle Tour with Optional Activities

The day starts with early morning departure from the hotel in coaches or 4x4 super jeeps. The first stop is at Thingvellir National Park, the original site of the oldest existing parliament in the world, founded in the year 930. The most important events of Icelandic history have taken place at Thingvellir and the rifting of the earth‘s crust with the Eurasian and North-American continental plates is clearly visible. After a short walk down the impressive canyon Almannagjá we continue to the famous Geysir area, a geothermal field with hot springs and the regularly spouting geysir „Strokkur“. All of the worlds‘s spouting hot springs are named after the Geysir in Iceland. From Geysir it is only a short drive to Gullfoss, the „golden“ waterfall, one of Europe´s most powerful waterfalls, thundering 32m over a fault into the canyon of the river Hvitá. Optional summer: Rafting

After lunch we depart for a river rafting adventure with serene canyons and adrenaline pumping waves and rapids in the river Hvitá, a very memorable way to experience the raw forces of nature in Iceland. You might even want to jump from a cliff into the river. The day can ends with a BBQ at the rafting base camp or dinner at a restaurant in Reykjavik. Optional all year: Amazing Incentive Race On the way back to Reykjavik we stop in the small town of Hveragerdi for an Amazing Incentive Race. Participants rush across the town solving clues and overcoming trials, groups competing against each other in a race where only team spirit and cooperation can win the day. After the race everyone flies over the Varmá River in the exciting flying fox steel wire slide. Lobster dinner at a sea shore restaurant in the small fishing village Stokkseyri or dinner at a restaurant in the old town of Reykajvik.

DAY 3: The Blue Lagoon and Departure

On our way to the airport we stop at the Blue Lagoon to enjoy bathing and relaxing in the lagoon’s geothermal seawater, known for its positive effects on the skin. A visit to the spa promotes harmony between body, mind and spirit and enables one to soak away the stresses of modern life. Afterwards we enjoy lunch in the Lava restaurant overlooking the lagoon and its unique lava surroundings. The onward drive to the airport takes 15 minutes, departure in the afternoon
